【Control Methods】
World of Goo™2 offers two main control methods: directly touching the screen with your fingers; or detaching the Nintendo Switch™ Joy-Con™ controllers on both sides, using the buttons and control sticks on the controller to move the screen. When using the Joy-Con™ controllers, you can press the + button or - button at any time to re-center the control point. If you find the display too small or too large, you can also press the L button or R button to zoom in or out, enhancing your gaming experience.
【Game Structure】
The game consists of five chapters, each with different levels. As the game progresses, the difficulty of the levels gradually increases, requiring players to constantly adjust their gameplay strategies to tackle more complex and challenging levels.
【Gameplay Mechanics】
The gameplay of World of Goo™2 is very simple: players can manipulate black sticky creatures called Goo on the map, using them to construct various structures such as bridges and towers, to alter the terrain of the map. The ultimate goal for players in each level is to build the most efficient and stable structures using the least amount of Goo in the shortest time, in order to send as many Goo as possible to the destination—a mysterious pipe. Sometimes the Goo might be hiding and resting in the bushes, remember to wake them up and send all the Goo to the pipe.
【Data Statistics】
After each level is completed, the game provides simple statistics including the number of Goo collected by the player, the number of steps taken to complete the level, and the time needed to clear the level. Through the information, players can understand their building efficiency, motivate themselves to challenge for better scores, increase the replay value of the game, and lay a good foundation for physics and construction skill.
【Multiplayer Mode】
The offline mode of World of Goo™2 supports up to four players simultaneously, allowing players to tackle more difficult levels through teamwork and effective communication. Each player's Joy-Con™ controller is marked with a different colour on the screen, so remember not to mix up your controller with your partners'!
【Key Technique 1: Pay Attention to Every Sign Around You】
There are different signs that appear in each level. Although they may seem insignificant compared to the Goo balls, they play a crucial role. Signs not only narrate the story content but sometimes also display methods for clearing the level, giving players hints on how to reach the pipe. These signs are extremely important sources of information, so remember to check each sign!
【Key Technique 2: Understand the Characteristics of each Goo Balls】
Every species of Goo balls have different characteristics, and players need to formulate corresponding gameplay strategies based on the strengths and weaknesses of each Goo variety. The game includes various maps, and players need to carefully consider physical elements such as gravity, balance, and structural strength to determine Goo allocation and overall building strategy direction. Fifteen years flew by in a flash, and our lovable "Goo" balls popped up again through some earthquake cracks! The formerly bankrupt World of Goo Corporation has made a comeback, rebranding itself as the "World of Goo Organization." This self-proclaimed eco-friendly institution has resumed its Goo ball collecting activities. One day, they lowered a hook into the water, aiming at a giant creature. This creature grabbed the hook and surfaced, immediately shooting a burst of flame towards space.
100,000 years later, an observer from a distant planet was drawn to that flame. Silently, through a telescope, he watched everything unfolding on that faraway world...
