Search for Evidence
Players need to investigate every corner of the crime scene to find more evidence that can help restore the truth. However, not all clues are easily accessible. Some clues are locked up, others are blocked by objects that have to be pushed aside to investigate. Be patient and look for interactive objects on the map, or you may find something surprising. Once the key clue has been obtained, a message will pop up indicating that the clue's gear has been obtained.
Clue Investigating Mode
When the player investigates a key piece of evidence, he or she enters Clue Investigating Mode. In this mode, players can use a magnifying glass to examine the details of the evidence and find clues that can help solve the case. The progress bar at the top of the screen shows the current progress of the search.
While investigating the evidence, Rex can switch between his normal views and his investigation view to search. The player needs to use both views to find all the evidence. Once the search is complete, the clues can be combined by pressing the combine button below. If the progress bar at the top is not filled up after the clues have been combined, it means that the player has not yet found all the evidence.
Case Reconstruction Gears
Once Rex has gathered all the evidence, the player can press the pocket watch at the top right of the screen to enter the case reconstruction screen. Each of the small and large gear wheels represents a clue to what Rex has gathered, and it is the player's task to get all the wheels moving to help him reorganise his thinking and restore the truth. The pocket watch is powered by the top gear, the white dot in the picture is where the gears can be placed. If you press the start button and each of the gears is spinning, you're done. After completing the mini-game, Rex will be able to deduce what happened.
