Guide the tin soldiers to their destination and pass the game!
The main gameplay of Tin Hearts is to design a route on a map full of obstacles to get the tin soldiers to their destination. The number of tin soldiers varies from level to level and the player can find out how many soldiers they need to guide by looking at the number that appears above the destination. To get them to the destination, players will need to manipulate props to remove obstacles, change the direction of travel and cross undulating terrain.
Use building blocks to change routes
Even a magical tin soldier that can walk on their own still needs to be guided by the player in order to reach the endpoint. If the player does not place other items on their path, they will just keep moving straight ahead, turning around when they encounter an obstacle or even bumping into the soldiers at the back of the line. You can then use the building blocks on the map to change their path and guide them in the direction you want them to go. In addition, each block has a different shape hole, so you will need to pay attention to the correct shape of the block when placing it.
Jumping to heights using trampoline drums
When planning a route for your soldiers, you may encounter terrain that has a height difference. This is where the trampoline drums come in handy. You can guide the soldiers to the trampoline drums and let them jump up to the high platform to cross the terrain and move on.
Launching toy cannons to blast away obstacles along the way
At times, soldiers can get stuck in the way of obstacles that prevent them from moving forward. This is when the player needs to control the toy cannons and fire off missiles to blow away the obstacles in their path.
Using the ability to manipulate time
You can't regret a game of chess, but you can when guiding the toy soldiers. Players can pause, fast-forward and rewind time in a level. When the soldiers move in a different direction than expected, the player can use the time rewind function to return them to their previous position. If you need some thinking time, you can also use the pause function to think about how to overcome the next obstacle. Of course, if the road is clear, the fast-forward function can be used to get the soldiers to their destination faster and save some time. In some of the more complex levels, players will need to use their time manipulation skills to change the outcome of their actions in order to get through the game.
Close the black wooden box to reset the tin soldiers
Not moving as expected? The black wooden box is the starting point for the toy tin soldiers, so you can reset them by closing the box and returning them to their starting point.
